Medicare Covers More Vaccines at No Cost

Medicare has good news to share: a new prescription drug law that went into effect January 1, 2023, will help people with Medicare save money — an average savings of up to $70 in out-of-pocket costs each year.

With more recommended vaccines now covered for free under Medicare Part D, more people with Medicare will be protected against diseases and severe illnesses such as:

  • Shingles
  • Tetanus/diphtheria (Td)
  • Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough) (Tdap)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Flu
  • COVID-19
  • Pneumococcal Pneumonia

Serious diseases can impact our health and quality of life, which is why it’s so important to stay up-to-date with vaccines. Talk with your doctor about which vaccines are right for you!

Not only are more vaccines covered, but there will be lower costs for insulin, lower out-of-pocket drug costs, and Medicare will negotiate to get you lower drug prices on certain brand-name Medicare Part B and Part D drugs.
